Football Club Tippecanoe Constitution

 

Article I: Name

The association shall be named “Football Club Tippecanoe”, hereafter referred to as “FC TIPPECANOE”.

Article II: Purpose

The purposes of FC TIPPECANOE shall be:

1. To develop the broadest number of soccer players with the highest level of skill and tactical awareness for the Tippecanoe High School soccer program and other local high school programs.

2. To provide a variety of soccer experiences extending from purely social game environments to the highest competitive level available in the area.

3. To develop soccer players through the teaching of technical soccer skills and tactical play as appropriate to each age group as recommended by USYSA, NSCAA, and ODP player development programs.

4. To develop today’s youth through the teaching of responsibility, sportsmanship and fair play through the soccer experience.

 

Article III: Affiliations

1. FC TIPPECANOE shall be affiliated with US Youth Soccer, Ohio South Youth Soccer Association, Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association, and shall follow F.I.F.A. “Laws of the Game” as approved by U.S. Soccer with modifications defined by US Youth Soccer sanctioned programs in which we participate.

2. FC TIPPECANOE shall be affiliated with Tipp City Youth Soccer, Inc. (TCYS, Inc.) and shall follow follow TCYS, Inc. guidelines and regulations applicable to Select Soccer.

3.  FC TIPPECANOE teams play in the Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association (MVYSA) and shall follow MVYSA guidelines when fielding teams sanctioned by that association.

 

Article IV: Membership

Membership in FC TIPPECANOE shall consist of:

1. Each player registered to a FC TIPPECANOE team and his/her parent(s) or guardian(s).

2. Members of the FC TIPPECANOE Executive Committee.

3. FC TIPPECANOE Executive Committee approved coaches, assistant coaches and/or trainers.

4. Any member-at-large approved by the FC TIPPECANOE Executive Committee for special programs or purposes

 

Article V: Government

A. FC TIPPECANOE shall be governed by an Executive Committee (EC) consisting of all Team Managers/Coaches of record and nine elected officials. Elected officials may also be Team Managers/Coaches of record. The EC will be responsible for the proper operation of FC TIPPECANOE.

B. The FC TIPPECANOE accounting year starts on August 1 and ends on July 31.

 

Article VI: Executive Committee (EC)

The Executive Committee shall consist of the following six elected officers and the remaining FC TIPPECANOE Team Managers/Coaches of record.

President

Vice President

Secretary

Treasurer

Player Development Director

Coaching Director

 

Article VII: Responsibilities of the EC

The members of the EC shall:

1. Make all policy decisions regarding FC TIPPECANOE operations.

2. Ensure that the policies of FC TIPPECANOE are in accordance with those stated in Article III (Affiliation)

3. Appropriately represent FC TIPPECANOE.


4. Make all decisions concerning fees, budgets, and expenditures not included in the budget.

5. Perform duties as defined in the FC TIPPECANOE By-Laws.

 

Article VIII: Meetings of the EC

A. The President of FC TIPPECANOE will develop an annual meeting schedule and will convene meetings as necessary to conduct FC TIPPECANOE business.

B. Scheduled meetings of the EC are open for attendance by the membership of FC TIPPECANOE unless otherwise restricted by the President of FC TIPPECANOE.

C. Special meetings may be convened by the President with not less than 48 hours notice to all EC members.

D. Special meetings must be convened by the President within 14 calendar days after receiving a written petition signed by not less then one-hundred (100) members of FC TIPPECANOE.

E. All meetings of the EC shall be conducted in accordance with the latest edition of Roberts Manual of Parliamentary Procedures.

F. The order of business shall be as follows:

      i. Roll call of membership

      ii. Credentials of voting members or their representatives

      iii. Review of the previous meeting’s minutes

      iv. Treasurer’s report

      v. Communication of incoming or outgoing correspondence.

      vi. Committee reports

      vii. Directors’ reports

      viii. Unfinished business

      ix. Consideration of proposed modifications of FC TIPPECANOE Constitution, By-Laws, and/or Rules and Regulations.

      x. New business

      xi. Elections

      xii. Adjournment

 

Article IX: Elections

A. The President shall, not less than 60 days prior to an annual election, appoint a Nominating Committee consisting of not less than two to four members, with one member from the EC.

B. The Nominating Committee shall name not less than one consenting member for each of the vacancies to be filled on the EC and submit a list of nominees to the EC.

C. Additional names of candidates for the EC positions may be nominated from the floor at the annual meeting.

D. Election of EC officers shall be by ballot.  Each member shall be entitled to cast on e vote for each vacancy to be filled on the EC.  The persons receiving a plurality of votes shall be declared elected.  In case of a tie, the membership shall then vote to elect one from the nominees receiving an equal number of votes.

E. The annual election shall be held at the last meeting before November 30.

F. All EC officers are elected to serve one year terms which began on August 1st.
